Rotarians who cycle are invited to participate in this our 8th Ride to Conference. District Governor Richard Luke is aware of all ride details and is supportive of our ride.

The Ride is a six day ride, commencing at Bendigo on Saturday 20th February finishing in Bendigo on Thursday 25th February.

This is a supported ride with back-up vehicles transporting our gear and providing on-road support.

Accommodation is over 5 nights and will be in motel facilities – all with swimming pools so cyclists can enjoy cooling off after the day’s ride.

The purpose of the Ride is to raise money for Australian Rotary Health. In so doing we will raise public awareness of Rotary International and have some good fun and fellowship in the process. This will be the third year of 3 for supporting our indigenous scholarship recipient Anne-Maree Nielson, a medical student at Flinders University, Darwin (Ref 2015 ARH Facts Booklet p 98)

As for last year’s Conference, we will have the opportunity to be received on stage during the ARH segment of the Saturday afternoon program.

As an option you may wish to ride a part of the way only, for a pro rata cost plus the cost of a cycle top.

At some stage in the ride, our District Governor Richard Luke hopes to be cycling with us.

Over the first 5 years of the event, some $70,000 has been raised for Polio Plus by ‘Ride to Conference’ cyclists and their Clubs. Over the last two years $30,000 has been raised for Australian Rotary Health.

Since 1981 $33 million has been raised by Australian Rotary Clubs for ARH. (ref. ARH Facts Booklet 2015 p5)

This is an official project of RI District 9790 and
